Holiday homes in Allinge
Allinge, with its picturesque old houses and streets, is situated along the steep northern rocky coast of Bornholm. Below lies the harbour, which has been blasted out of the granite.
The harbour of Allinge is a popular yachting destination, and from here you can also catch the ferry to Christiansø. Allinge is also the host of the annual political Folkemødet gathering and the Allinge Jazz Festival as well as a number of charming markets during the summer.
Allinge is a bustling little town all year round, but in the summer it has an almost southern European atmosphere. Around the Kirkepladsen and Lindepladsen squares and the harbour, a lovely neighbourhood has been created featuring shops as well as cafés, restaurants and a smokehouse.
The Allinge Røgeri smokehouse stands on its own on the rocks overlooking the sea and may well enjoy Bornholm’s most beautiful location. North of Allinge lies the little town of Sandvig from where the road continues on to the ruins of the Hammershus Fortress, the largest fortification of its kind in northern Europe.
